Cut into Jack’s Mountain, this 767′ vertical trail offers a challenging day trip for the adventurous. Climb the same 1,037 steps used by local quarry workers on this 3.5 mile vertical trek – be sure to bring water and lunch. Those who complete the trail enjoy a spectacular view.
Visit “The Village Built Around an Inferno.” This historical testament to the region’s ironmaking heritage on more than 423 acres is surrounded by the 80,000 acre Trough Creek State Park. Enjoy hiking, picnicking, swimming, hunting, fishing, orienteering, camping, and many other outdoor activities at this beautiful mountain destination.
